Instructions for replacing the media in your SoftSorb Salt Free Water Softener
The procedure for replacing the Filtersorb SP media does not require any tools or plumber. First, put the bypass valve in the bypass mode and unscrew the valve head from the bypass. Next, unscrew the valve head from the fiberglass tank and dump out the water and spent Filtersorb SP media. Cover the distributor tube with tape and pour in the replacement media using the funnel provided. Be sure to reattach the tank to the bypass and open the water supply slowly until the tank is filled with water and put into bypass and soak the media for 40 minutes. Reopen the bypass and you are ready to go.
The spent Filtersorb SP media is environmentally friendly and does not require any special methods of disposal. It is non hazardous.
